8x8 l/o My daughter developed a strawberry birthmark on her temple shortly after her birth. At first the Dr. told us it was a mark from the heart monitor they had on her during delivery but as the days went by it darkened and puffed up. We were told that it will most likely be all gone by the time she is 5 so I wanted to make sure I did a page about it ... telling her how special it is so she doesn't feel embarassed or ashamed about it. The vellum strip on the left says 'a birthmark is God's fingerprint'. The picture on the right is hinged and flips up with hidden journaling. The poem on the second page reads:

Here it is for all to see
God reach down and laid his hand on me
This birthmark he did adorn
To announce to the world on the day that I was born:
God has reached out and left this mark
To symbolize the way that I'll reach out
and touch your heart
