This LO was done for toofclnr's Imperfect Lives Challenge...Against All Odds. The challenge was to illustrate someone beating the odds and do it on a LO using only "odd" numbers of items. I used 3 different PPs, 3 photo mats, 3 arrows, 3 photo corners, 3 photo turns, and 11 journaling strips.

The photos are of my eldest son's girlfriends little boy climbing our 60 foot Pine Tree on Mother's Day of this year. All the children ran breathlessly into the house to tell us about Brandon's bravery. When we went outside...there he was halfway up the tree and still climbing. It was frightening and inspiring to all of us because this little boy has overcome some very heavy personal obstacles in his 9 years of life, and really has made huge strides physically and intellectually in the last year. Watching him do this almost felt to us like his "graduation" ceremony! His mother made him stop climbing shortly after this photo was taken...and illicited a promise that he would never climb that tree again....but he brought tears of pride and inspiration to our uplifted eyes as we watched his joy and pride at conquering this giant tree.

Journaling reads:
"Brandon gleefully climbed, stopping only when his mom made him.

Even though Brandon is small physcially, he is large on grit and daring.

Our 60 foot Pine Tree
Our 3 1/2 foot Brandon

The ZOOM lens gives us a closer look at little Brandon up on high!"
