this is extremely touching and very sweet of you to journal this for her to read down the road. she is absolutely beautiful, you do still have her under lock and key, right??? LOL
This layout is about the time I realized (or finally admitted) that my beautiful daughter was no longer a little girl. From mother to daughter:
Journaling (on index card behind photo): This is what being a mom is all about. You are 17 years old. You are no longer a child. I can look back at all the fun we had while you were growing up – you acting silly, me laughing, you acting prissy, me laughing, you being so cute, me thanking God that you were mine. Now you will be going through your senior year in high school, then off to college and then you will be off to find your place in the world. You have your dreams of a satisfying career, a knight in shining armor on a big white horse, then perfect, beautiful children. I will let you have your dreams. I will not tell you that sometimes life gets in the way of dreams. We won’t talk (right now) about bills and dirty diapers and never-ending housework. This is the greatest time of your life. You are about to take wings and fly. I will miss you when you aren’t here. I know that we will always remain close and I take comfort in that. Go out into the world and be all you can be. I’ve done the biggest part of my job as mom, so I know that you have the values to be true to yourself.
