Okay, I have to say I LOVE We R's new metal products...Yum! Used one of their metal alphas, metal rub ons, metallic ribbon and paper. TFL! Journaling: This is where Thanksgiving found us every year. As a child I remember waking up to the sounds of Mom & Grandma in the kitchen putting the turkey in the oven. My aunts, uncles & cousins would arrive throughout the morning. We would watch t.v., play games, & sneak samples of the food. Once the turkey was ready it would be added to the already overflowing table. We would form a line & fill our plates buffet style, then find a place to sit...sometimes there were card tables, but many times we'd just sit on the couch, floor, piano bench...wherever there was space. This was our Thanksgiving. Very informal & casual, totally imperfect which to me was perfect. After I married Allan, we started switching between his family & mine. It was hard for me, because I realized with my busy adult life, Thanksgiving was the one time of year I could be certain to see my Grandma. From then on we decided to spend our Thanksgivings with her. After Grandma's heart attack and subsequent surgeries, Thanksgiving was too much for her to host so we moved the celebration to Uncle Dave's. It was different, but Grandma was there, so it was all good. But now, this year, 2007 will be our first year without her...I'm not sure where we will celebrate, but I know my Mom will be there & we will make the meal together with many tears & happy memories. We will start a new tradition, one my children will remember, with their Grandma...& probably at her house.
