Well, today is happened. Should have known it would be coming soon. The first trip to the ER. JOURNALING: The first and what I hope to be the last. You are over 3 years old and you have never had an allergic reaction to anything. So imagine my surprise and horror when you got up from your nap and was covered in welps the size of my hand. All over your body. your face, your neck, your arm - your legs were the worst. Completely covered. So we promptly went to the hospital because I thought the unusual bite mark on your neck had just revealed its consequence. As it turned out it was simply a virus that produces hives. With a 102 fever the fear of an allergic reaction was set aside. Call me paranoid or over protective, but when it comes to the possibility of allergic reactions I don’t take that lightly. Overall the experience was memorable, especially when momma busted the nurse chatting in the hallway with friends and holding your dose of benadryl in her hand, of which we had been waiting 20 minutes for. You can only imagine my reaction when she tells me that she got involved in a conversation - “It was good!” DO WHAT?! Oh no. I don’t think so. Nothing comes between a momma, her baby and the medicine she is in need of, especially in the ER. I’ll be taking care of this. And I’ll take care of you.
