LOL....I tutor young (kindergarten to grade 5) kids who are always fascinated with my tongue ring/tattoos.....I always make it an opportunity to preach about the perminancy of tatts and how piercings need to be cleaned and taken care of...yeah I'm weird....but it's a new world for kids these days!
Oh, too funny! I love the overall design of the LO with the smaller trio of photos. I think I would have moved the T on the title over a smidge to echo the W of the title above. I love the paper pieces cut at angles. I'll have to scraplift that! :)
I think that this is very funny!!!! I love the pictures and their placement. I would suggest to maybe attach a couple of small round rings through the eyelets to draw attention to them and to go with the story. This is a really nice example of a multi-photo page.
Ok I was a little behind and realized you already made changes before I even got to the original so I'll just comment here.. I really like this one Jess! I don't know if it's the story behind it or the overall appeal of the design, but it's really a great entry. I had no idea the phresh and Phunky PP was soooo cute. You definately made it work great here!
Love the eyelets but I wish there was some other indicator of the "belly ring" story, especially since the journaling is hidden. How are future generations going to "know" that they need to find the story??
Oh I love the addition of the chalk (or paint?), it really just brings everything together nicely! What an adorable story, I also love how it's captured in dialogue. Angela's idea to have a metal ring on the LO is pretty cool as well. So awesome how the smallest modifications really make a world of difference - great work!
Jess, I LOVE this. I had one weird thought...feel free to leave it at weird & do nothing with it because I do love this as-is, but...what if you put just a plain metal ring pierced somewhere through the paper...to give a visual taste of the humour behind the layout & the hidden journaling? I am *laughing* so hard though because I could hear any of the boys I teach saying the same thing (although in my case it would *just* be seeing my belly button!)
Love it for all the same reasons Tiff listed. The change to dark blue cs also seems to give it more depth. I love the story, too, and the way you wrote it like a script.
This looks great, Jess! I love the way everything is "rooted" to the right side of the page. I just love that for some reason. The strips of patterned paper with the beveled cuts are perfect!!! I am totally diggin' the mix of the black and white pics and the flourishes add so much flow to the page. Love them! The journaling is soooo cute and the pull out tab is perfection. I think the rounded scalloped edge (accented with the eyelets) is the perfect complement to the sharp points of the bevels on the paper. The addition of the "whimsically" brushed paint totally finishes the whole LO. Super job!
Hidden Journaling On Pink Paper pulls out to Read: Mom-mom set you two up this cute little pool to play in. While in here we had the funniest conversation. Thomas whispers something in Tristin’s ear. Tristin: “What is that?” Me: “What is what?” Thomas: “That!!!” (pointing towards my stomach) Me: “Oh, that. It’s called a belly button ring.” Thomas: “Does it hurt?” Me: “No, it doesn’t hurt.” Tristin: “Can you take it out?” Me: “Well, yeah. If I wanted to I could.” Tristin: “Take it out! I want to see!” Me: *big sigh* “ok” (take it out to amuse them) Thomas: “Oh my gosh, I can see the hole!” Tristin: “Does it hurt now?” Me: “No, it doesn’t hurt.” Tristin: “Ok, that’s enough. Put it back in, I don’t want to see it anymore!”
