The sage of my dd's love/hate relationship with her hair. Journaling reads: You've only had one serious haircut in your life. Since then it has been longer sometimes and shorter sometimes, but always what people would call "long" to some degree. * Your curls have been replaced by thick waves...which you hate. For a long time you would keep it pulled back, just to avoid having it poof out all over the place. Then you discovered a flat iron, and you've been pretty happy with your hair ever since. * It has gradually gotten darker over the years, too, but it's still light enough that most people consider it "blonde." And yes, you get teased about (being) a stereotypical blonde. (Like the one time, sitting at Tom & Janene's for dinner after cheer practice, your hair was still in a ponytail, and you just randomly flipped it around and announced, "I love my hair." That's one that you may never live down.) * Mostly these days you keep it straight, although you have a lot of fun having it fixed for special events, too. And occasionally you'll let it dry on its own and let the waves take over - which is still my personal favorite.
