Entry #1 "Finally Met Matthew" OK, you know by now I love Matthew...and I have been dying to tell you all this...just waiting for the contest. It is long BUT PLEASE READ!!!
I went to a wedding with a girlfriend. The wedding was of a friend that is somewhat famous, Paul Anderson, so the guest list was to be exciting. The wedding itself was small, not a large turn out, but the reception following at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel was huge. There were so many people there; chances were we would not see the same people twice. So my friend and I were walking around saying our hellos and trying to find a place to settle down and watch everyone when my eyes stumbled across someone I never expected to see at this wedding. It was Matthew McConaughey!! I was so excited, and I just knew I had to meet him (y’all know how I feel about him). Anyways, my friend and I walked in his direction. The whole time I was thinking to myself (ok Gina, don’t go getting all nervous and acting like a star struck kid)………so we approached him (oh my god, what a hunk!) Since I was speechless at first my friend introduced us….and to my surprise I felt a sudden calm come over me and I was able to have a normal conversation with him. We spoke about the wedding couple, how long we had known them, all the usual wedding conversation. I told him what a big fan I was of his and that it was so awesome to actually get the chance to meet him. He was so down to earth……so not full of himself. Anyways, we had to mingle with others and let him get back to the same, so we said our good-byes and walked away. I was so bummed that I could not stay and hog up all his time. My friend and I spent the rest of the evening talking, dancing and eating….it was a great night. I did not see Matthew again so I assumed he left the reception……wahhhhhh. My friend and I decided that we would leave the reception and head to an after party that we knew about. As we were walking out of the reception hall I spotted Matthew ahead of me…I could see his back, but I knew it was him. He was kinda walking and dancing as he went. When we reached him just outside, my friend tapped him on the shoulder, he turned, and we told him how very nice it was to meet him. And I wished him luck for his future. He then asked me how he would be able to get in touch with me!! I was so floored I almost lost it, but reminded myself I needed to maintain. So I took out a paper and a pen and I started to write my number and email address. Well wouldn’t you know it….my pen would not write!! Ugh! We asked a few people near by for a pen but no one had one. I kept thinking to myself that if I did not write it down for him there was no way he would remember it. So he asked us where we were going and we told him about the after party. He asked if he could tag along. I was in complete shock! And of course we said he could. So we get to the party and it is in full swing. People dancing, drinking and having a great time. Time just flew. Before I knew it the party was coming to an end and we were all too tired to go anywhere, so the host offered us to all spend the night. Everyone took a room or a spot to sleep in. My friend and I thought for sure Matthew would want to leave too, but he said he would sleep on the sofa. I took a spot on the floor….close by and asked Matthew if he would still be there in the morning. I did not want him to leave before having a chance to take a picture with him. He promised he would not leave. We said good night and everyone went to sleep. In the morning we got up and at first I did not see Matthew, and I was so bummed. I woke my friend and said that Matthew did not keep his promises when, at that very moment, in walked Matthew! Yay! I was so happy he was still there. So my friend, Matthew and I left. We had to drive him back to the hotel where he left his car. Since my friend’s place was on the way we dropped her off first. When we were headed to get Matthew’s car he said he wanted to know if I was busy for the day…..and of course I was not gonna say yes! He said he wanted to take me to see some things. I told him I needed to go home, shower and change my clothes first. So we got his car and headed to my place. I got showered and changed and we took his car to the first place of the day…it was an art gallery. He told me that he had been thinking about purchasing a few pieces and wanted an opinion. So we spent a good part of the morning there. After that he took me to eat brunch at what he said was one of his favorite hang outs. From there he asked me if I minded to wait while he got a hair cut. It was his mom's birthday that evening and he wanted to be prepared. So I waited for him. From there we went for a long walk in the park. We talked about all sorts of things and I was still so amazed that I was in his company and so at ease. It was an awesome afternoon. We went back to the gallery because he had finally reached a decision on what pieces he wanted to buy….one which was to be a gift for his mom. After all the paperwork and such we left there heading back to my place. On the way he asked me if I wanted to accompany him to his mom’s birthday, but I declined….I told him that I thought it was a family thing and best he kept it that way. He asked me if I would mind if he called on me some other day and I told him I would be hurt if he didn’t. He said he was so comfortable with me because I did not make a big deal out of his being famous….and he said that was a rare quality to find in people. I thanked him for an awesome time….he kissed me on the forehead and then said he would be in touch really soon and then........... I WOKE UP! bwahahahahaaha! based on a real dream Sept 6, 2006 Thanks for looking :) YOU CAN SEE THE INSIDE OF THE MINI BOOK HERE
