Our Great Barrier Reef Cruise - While people were hurling all around me when things got rough, I (barely) held it together until we reached the reef. Journaling reads : "Our first full day in Cairns was our cruise out to the Great Barrier Reef for 4 ˝ hours of activities of our choice: snorkeling, glass bottom boat, and semi-sub were all included, and I was ready to try all of them – until our cruise turned bumpy.
At first, we were all kind of laughing at the quantity of barf bags the crew had set on each table. Then things got rough, and all around us people were losing their breakfasts over and over again.
Despite the Dramamine AND the ginger tablets, I didn’t think I was going to make it and I opened a bag. Instantly, one of the crew was there, instructing me to unbutton my pants, take off my sweater, suck on ice while Todd, who is totally unaffected by sea sickness, looked on in sympathy. I made it – barely – and breathed a sigh of relief along with many others when we finally reached the pontoon and listened to the captain’s announcement: “Lunch will be served from 11:30-2:00.”
Blaaaaaarrggggh!"
