Nina, I love this LO. I get to see your back yard, which I know you love. And the eggs are so great. And I feel like you put your heart into this LO and gave us a glimpse of your life. No wonder you love your life...it looks pretty terrific. - Robin
Nina! I love this LO so much. It is obvious that this comes from the heart. I think your family will cherish this for years to come! I, too, wouldn't have thought to do such a LO, but after seeing yours I think I might just have to do something like this. Your journaling is awesome.....poignant to say the least. The quintessence of what makes a family! You are so creative and I admire your talent! I have missed "chatting" with you. I haven't been on sb.com b/c it's been crazy-busy. However, since you're on my list of "fav artists" I got the email notification that you had posted a LO and I jumped right onto the site to check it out! I am glad that I did.....
OK first off NIna, your journaling is always so sweet - ya big softie *hugs* :) - I LOVE how you made the pp, I thought I had some of that pink lol that I used in my sisters wedding album, but I see you made it, so I guess not - looks great - LOVE the scalloping and the ?"reflection"? of it with the strip & the holes - Love the stickles on the tags - great touch! :) and big white whale.... LOL!!
Wow, girl! This is an awesome LO. You really put some time and effort into this and it shows! First I want to thank you for sharing. This was a great job on our challenge and it is very much appreciated! I read all your journaling and what a hoot with the clean living room - don't we all have that problem? I love all your photos and the extra touches you used here are just awesome! Your stamping is lovely and the addition of the butterflies , tiny hearts and the scalloped edge - well, it's just all fantastic! TFS!!!
Gorgeous Nina!! I love it ALL!!!! I LOVE that hidden journaling!! The pp is soooo cute! and I love that ribbon!! Pretty pics too! You did an awsome job! I just love it! I'll prolly have to lift that journaling idea if you don't mind!! Great job! :)
This lo was for a challenge I did for the Eiffel Tower Group. The challenge was to do a lo of where you live, use 2 pp papers and 3 items from a list (mine were: ribbon, stickers; pink hearts and metal: brads and heart charm. For an extra challenge you were asked to make your own pp (2) which I did on the mauve cs I stamped the the swirls and on the teal I stamped the vine going up the left side, hole punched the teal and scalloped it with my cutterpede. With the holes from the teal I added them to the right of another piece that I cut out from the teal that was just a scallop strip. On both after I stamped the design I then took a Dew Drop pigment ink in white and added it to the edges and across the cs giving it a cloudy look. I added the heart stickers and stickles to the vine I stamped. I really liked how it turned out and the colors I love. The butterflies are wooden. Behind each picture is a tag with hidden journaling about each picture and a reflection about the pic it is behind. I added stickles to the tab you see sticking out and then a silver brad for an extra touch of metal. This is what each tag states. Going from left to right going down.... 1) This is the front porch to our house. Spent many days watching the kids ride bikes, swing and play from here. I have shared coffee and conversation with my neighbors here. Have watched many of rain storms here also. It's the entrance into our house and into our lives as a family. Our home and family is a blessing! 2)This is our backyard. This is a view from my favorite place to sit. Our backyard was empty when we moved in. I love the willow tree, it is by far my favorite tree in the yard. Eric, my dad and neighbor built our shed. We have spent many hours in the sandbox to the left of the shed. I love my backyard and all the memories spent there with family and friends. 3) These are some flowers from my garden this year. I have way too many gardens in my yard, but I so love them. I believe I got the love for gardening from my mom who always had a green thumb and still does. I love the color the flowers bring into our surroundings, along with the butterflies. Gardening gives me a sense of peace and beauty. 4) If I am not home I am tranporting my gang in the "Big White Whale" She has taken our family on many vacations, camping trips and around town. She is soo big she is like our home away from home! This is the vehicle I drive 95% of the time. She was a bit intimating at first, but I drive her like a race car at times! I have grown to love "The Big White Whale" 5) This is us. My family. I took this pic of us last year on the 4th of July. With 2 teens it seems like it is getting harder and harder for moments like this where we are all together. It is crazy at times having a family of 6 and I would have never guessed that I would have such a large family. As crazy as it is at times I wouldn't trade it's blessings! 6) This is our front room or part of it anyway! Take a good look beacuse it is CLEAN! That's why I took the pic. Hours later it did not look like this anymore! Awe.... I soo love a clean house, but with 4 kids it's hard to maintain it at times. Our house is humble, but I love my home, it reflects who we are! 7) This is a reflection of our kitchen table a lot lately since I started scrapping! I have a desk, but it is mostly covered with scrappin stuff, so I overflow to the kitchen table. My family and especially Eric is very tolerant of me. Since it is summer we eat outside almost everyday. Which means my mess kind of hangs around. But hey, when they look back through these pages I made they will surely know it was a mess with much love! 8) These were some of our Easter Eggs we made last year. I included them because I think my family is #1. The little egg on the far left is holding up a #1 finger. Plus we as a family had soo much fun making these together. I guess you could say my family and where I live is "EGGS-tra Special"
I had a really had time starting this layout and thought I might not get it completed because I had such a hard time creatively figuring out what I wanted to do.... but all in all I really like it and might not have thought to do such a page on my own. The only part of the challenge that I did not do was the blueprint one, I forgot all about that part of it, but I usually do my own thing anyway and I must say this turned out better then what I would have thought yesterday prior to starting it! Thanks for coming by and looking!
