This is the story,
as it was told to me....
Andrea had been walking back to our office on a hot summer day. As she was walking, she came upon a little bird lying on the sidewalk - not moving.
Being the compassionate person that she is, she knelt and picked up the small bird, gently holding it in her cupped hands.
The bird was not moving and Andrea thought for sure that it had died, when all of a sudden... it moved.... It raised its little head to peer at the human that was gently petting it and speaking oh-so-softly, “Hello, little birdie”, “Are you ok”?
The small bird came back to full consciousness (as it appeared to have been knocked out). It perched it’s slight body on Andrea’s finger - while Andrea continued to softly speak to it.
As Andrea was speaking to the tiny thing - people were walking by and gazing at this incredulous sight - a young woman standing on the sidewalk with a small bird perched on her finger as she softly spoke to it. Amazing!
Andrea then perched the little bird in a nearby tree where it eventually took flight and continued on to it’s destination.
It’s the little things in life that warm our hearts - True Story!
