this is a lo i did for a challenge to scraplift a lo from your favs. this was from girlyteenager, but it reminded me tha in 6th grade my friends and i used to draw and color pages like this all the time. it inspired me to use this absolutely lovely picture of me (NOT!) for this lo. the entire page is hand colored with gel pens, and the words on the page are different colors of vellum, and they are things that i remember about 6th grade. the words on the page are; my awkward and ugly stage! spend the night parties, dark shadows, donny osmond, ms. pressley, a box of 64 crayons, bobby sherman, playing jacks, jumping rope, peace signs, fellow frogs of america, m.i.a.bracelets, making pages like this, the jackson five, friends, teenbeat mag. then, the hidden journaling reads; sixth grade....11 years old....not quite a teenager, yet no longer a child...self concious beyond words...eager to grow up, but afraid of what it will bring...friendships mean eveything, yet are very hard to manage...pretending to be cool, but feeling just hte opposite. i call this my "awkward & ugly stage. i was so gawky and unsure of myself. however, for some unknow reason, i thought i looked "groovy" in this outfit, with my bright yellow shirt, orange, green and yellow flowered pants, topped with a brown narus collared jackt. add my lovely hairsytle and fashionable glasses to the mix, and i was really something! looking back, all that comes to mind is, "WHAT WAS I THINKING?"
