I am so moved, You have no idea how close that hits to home for me! My husband just lost his step-mother to cancer and we watched as his dad stayed by her side and loved her through every moment! Beautiful work!
Bj...Your lo is so beautiful!
It reminded me of my dad...that took such loving care of my mom. I hope you don't mind...but, I think I may have to scraplift..your layout.
GREAT JOB!
This week we were to scraplift a page or element and create an essay on what made that scraplift desirable to us. This photo was taken one month after my mother-in-law passed away. There was never a man as devoted to a woman as my husbands step-father was. He was there for her every step of the way even through her last days of suffering with cancer. And, I dont think he realizes how much everyone appreciated the love he gave to her.
For the layout I used Bazzill cardstock for the background, mats, library pocket, tag, and accent blocks. On the blue I dry-brushed some white paint to the edges in a criss-cross fashion and then inked the edges on all. I had enlarged my photo to a 6x8. I added a quote to a transparentcy and attached it with brads in the upper right corner of the phoro. I carried these brads to the lower left to draw the eye down to the title. I used MM rub on letters to create the title. I also added many accents of ribbon around the layout attaching the folded pieces with staples.
the quote reads : The most important thing a father can do for his children is to love their mother - Theodore Hesburch
the journalling reads: I don't know if you've ever realized how much the love you gave Patty meant to the rest of us. We knew the joy we saw in her was a direct effect on the way you treated her. And, know how much your love comforted her when she needed it the most. I am glad to have you as my father-in-law and am glad that Gary looks to you as a role model - May, 2003
