I totally love how you crossed out your autumn stamp in the title! It is really eye catching. I think the leaves are great to use instead of the flowers of the sketch. The circle punched photos are not really grabbing me. I love the journaling matted on top of the squares. It sounds like a fun memory!
Love this!! there are just so many cool elements to this layout. The altered b is great. I love the leaves and the circle punch photos. This is really great!!
Awesome LO with lovely colors! Love the greens & browns! As usual you do such a great job journaling and telling the story. I particularly like the way you journaled in squares matted by pp.
First, I love the altered poison-ivy b. Once again, you inspire me with your creative use of multi-photos with the photo leaves on the letter and the circle punch-out of the trees. I have to say, though, that I wonder if cat-eye or rounded square shapes might be more relative than circles on this page. Still, K is right that the triangle does a good job of directing attention. I love the stamp font of the title and the journaling on the "wood" strips. Nice pp and colors. The different sized blocks and the crossed out elegant stamp in favor of your handwritten scrawl definitely lend to the edginess you wanted to convey. One more thing, since I know how much word choice means to you, I would've added finally before occurred. Way to tackle two challenges at once!
This rocks! There is so much visual interest here. The "b" looks awesome and I am loving that you combined the two challenges. The colors are perfect and I love the irreverance of the stamp and marking through it. The colors are perfect and as always, your inking finishes things off nicely. Scrapulous!
Sharon I love those leaves! They are so much fun and add so much visual interest. The juxtaposition of your journaling panels are so cools and I love to see your handwriting! I think it's cute the way that you crossed out autumn! I like how the 'B' stands out and the piece of ribbon. The circles create this awesome visual triangle that just pops out at me!
Beautiful! Love the " b" -the leaves ( what a great idea to make them from the photos) and the twine and the inking make it stand out and look so appropriate for the lo! i like that you made the photos bigger-makes them stand out! Love the journaling on the pp! What a great story! You did great job on the " B" and on the sketch!
This is absolutely amazing. I love the the feel of this whole LO. The stamps are all awesome (and the one crossed out was a great diea). Love the look of the journaling blocks. Using the pictures when you punched was a great idea. Your "b" looks awesome. I really think the different margines work with what you were going for.
This LO is a response to both of the challenges Denitza (Nitza) posted - the "My Letter" challenge to alter our first initial ("B" is my last initial) & the Sketch Challenge using pencillines.com sketch #41. The page describes a bar-b-que that kept getting postponed until it happened in November! This is my first time ever using a chipboard letter & following a sketch - it was a BLAST & probably not the last time I will! I wanted to create a somewhat edgy feel because the friends who had the bar-b-que are a real rock couple (she's a music publicist, he's a working drummer in an indie band), so I finally broke out that never-before-used "Autumn" stamp & promptly crossed it out! I also intentionally made the photo squares matted & therefore differently sized from the pp squares & made the margins between squares of random widths (the scan cuts of the right edge of the LO but the margin is about the same as it is on the left side). For the "B" I peeled off the top, varying the amount of layers I pulled off to make the surface uneven & rough-looking, inked it, wrapped it in twine, covered it w/ "leaves" cut from leftover photos & wrote "Brooklyn, NY 11/04" inside it. The circle punches also use photo scraps, as the varied-colored foliage was looking beautiful that day.
Journaling - "Pam & Dave's Prospect Park bar-b-que kept getting postponed until it occurred in November! --- It was fun hanging w/ them & their friends, & meeting up w/ our old bud Ken. --- The day was nice & unseasonably mild, for November! I happily wore thermals & wool layers! --- Ate turkey dogs, a burger & pasta salad. I made Lynchburg Lemonades & caught an early buzz! --- Greg (the camera man) did a great job driving there from White Plains & back. I was so proud of him!"
