This made me teary eyed...it is so touching, heartfelt and beautiful. My middle son recently lost his dog, and also my daughter and family. I think I will make a page similar for their albums that I am making for them. There is nothing harder than losing a beloved pet, they are like your children. Thank you for sharing this beautiful page.
God bless you and your hubby for loving the furry ones so fiercely. I know how hard it is to love something so much, it hurts to let them go. As my boxer girls grow older it becomes a reality I must face once again. I know it will be harder with these 2 since i have rescued them both and one being so close to death when I got her. With not being able to have children, these 2 beauties have filled a void. God bless the puppies of the world!! TFS!!
aye- still crying over here. that poem is so perfectly poignant. my heart just breaks for you- i wish i could reach over and give you a hug. but once again, it's a beautiful lo.
Words can't describe how I feel about this LO to say you did an awesome job wouldn't be right... but the feeling you have brought to this LO is a wonderful thing and all that you need to know is your pup is looking down at you and saying what a great and loving family I had. You should be proud!!!
Krissy, once again I am so sorry for your loss. Dogs are much loved members of the family and their absence is always painful. This page is a wonderful tribute & artistically stunning!! The superimposed photo of Duke in the background, very awesome technique...the poem is very special...the white border along with pic of hubby.....it's beautiful ....absolutley beautiful!!

I'm so sorry for the loss of your long-time furry friend! I know exactly how it feels as I lost my 14-year old pal, Skippy, earlier this year! Not a day goes by that I don't think of him and miss him dreadfully! This poem brought tears to my ears, just so touching! I know that we will see our pals again someday but it is so hard to let them go. I think this layout is just beautiful - I love the way you did the image of Duke in the background of this layout, great idea! I hope that time eases the pain but never the memories! God bless!

OMG Krissy!! I knew the minute I saw the layout come into my email!! I'm so very sorry! You have created a beautiful and tender tribute to him as well as to your husband! The background with Duke's face, the lovely framing, your husband's photo and that magnificent poem - what a beautiful creation!! You have most certainly mastered the art of digital creation! You have my thoughts and prayers {{{hugs}}}
Krissy, this is so amazing. I know when I lost my cat, I was surprised at how hard it hit me. I was literally on the edge of tears for almost a month. I even vowed to not ever have another pet again. That lasted only two years and now my dog, Ralphy has me hook, line and sinker. Lovely memorial for Duke!! Get a puppy, that will help alot!! Thanks for sharing a hard time!
A digi layout I did for my husband Gregg. We lost our sweet baby Duke 3 days ago. Gregg and Duke were together for more than 10 years. It was a devastating loss for us all, and I thank God for scrap therapy during times like this. The journaling on this layout reads:
I stood by your bed last night; I came to have a peep. I could see that you were crying you found it hard to sleep. I whined to you softly as you brushed away a tear, "It's me, I haven't left you, I'm well, I'm fine, I'm here." I was close to you at breakfast, I watched you pour the tea, You were thinking of the many times your hands reached down to me. I was with you at the shops today; your arms were getting sore. I longed to take your parcels, I wish I could do more. I was with you at my grave today; you tend it with such care. I want to reassure you, that I'm not lying there. I walked with you towards the house, as you fumbled for your key. I gently put my paw on you; I smiled and said, "It's me." You looked so very tired, and sank into a chair. I tried so hard to let you know, that I was standing there. It's possible for me to be near you every day. To say to you with certainty, "I never went away." You sat there very quietly, then smiled, I think you knew... In the stillness of that evening, I was very close to you. The day is over...I smile and watch you yawning And say, "Goodnight, God bless, I'll see you in the morning." And when the time is right for you to cross the brief divide, I'll rush across to greet you and we'll stand, side by side. I have so many things to show you, there is so much for you to see. Be patient, live your journey out...then come home to be with me. Unknown
