I love this paper too...thank you for showing me that it is okay to cover it up because, holy man, this is stunning. Now to go dig it out of my stash...
Wendy I love this .. very layered without looking cluttered! I love all of the transparencies and hidden meanings everywhere. I also love that the photo is sort of hazy and and it adds such depth to this layout. Your journaling is exactly perfect and I wouldn't change anything and just say wow!
I have got to tell you how impressed I am! I bought this paper about a month ago. I instantly fell in love with it, but have been struggling to figure out how to use it. It's almost like you would prefer to frame it than cover it up with pictures lol... You definately got it just right! The paper is so pretty, but so busy and I adore how you added elements that blend seemlessly within the design. If I hadn't seen this paper in it's original state I honestly wouldn't know where the paper starts and the embellishments begin! Now for the critiquing... The ONLY suggestion I ahve here is with the journaling. I do LOVE how it is in the three circles, but the problem is that with them being transparencies it is hard to view the journaling with so much going on behind. My suggestion would be to cut out some tan circles with an aged look to them that fit just behind the circle part (not behind the flourishes around the circle)...
Wendy...This is such a nice layout!! there are so many different elements working together here. I love the Louis Armstrong song...love the green and red accents, love the swirly feeling of this. I think this is a super layout, and I would not change a thing.
First--Happy Anniversary! Second--What a cute picture! Next, I can see why you had trouble with this paper. I would have, too. I love it, though, and I'm impressed with how many elements you added to this page, but you made it all work. I love your use of the transparency journaling blocks, the ghost hearts, and the rub-ons. Honestly, there are way too many things I like about this page to list, so I'm just gonna add it to my faves. I'd like to see the middle journaling circle moved down so that more of the words show over the green from the bg pp. Also, I'd like to see the 3 bling of the bottom flourish in red.
Great LO. Absolutely love the "almost hidden" journaling. Multiple layers, terrific use of dimension and bling along with very earthy colors. The glimpses of red really POP!
Wow this is such a visually appealing LO! First off, you two are soo cute! I absolutely love how your use of many embellies creates this effect of all these wonderful things happening at once, quite like how you were probably feeling during your celebration. Everything - colors, fonts, embellies, journaling - works together to create a happy, festive, head-over-heels-in-love feel - tres cool! Now, I don't know if it's just this scan/pic or what, but I find the journaling under the 2 left-most circles a bit difficult to read, so maybe circles of white or light colored paper underneath would help. But if it's more visible in person, then disregard! Love the photo, love the various fonts, love the Louis Armstrong. Awesome job!!
I truly love your journaling. You can absolutely tell you mean every single word of it. You guys are such a good-looking couple. I love this paper too (havent been able to use mine yet) and you used it perfectly. I love all of your embellies. I agree with tiff abou the red, I was thinking of a red photo corner or flouish (to kind of balance the red word "red") But i love everything you put on this LO, it looks amazing
What an adorable couple!!!!! This page is really striking, Wendy. I love that paper too, and I think you did a great job of using its "momentum" to add to your subject. Truly, the only thing I might add to this layout, is a touch of red in the bottom left corner. For some reason, my eye is always wanting red balanced. I love this and I think it is beautiful!
**I changed this layout slightly by adding a red photo corner to the lower left corner of the picture, but did not want to upload everything again (I really wish we could just change our images).
This a layout I completed about our anniversary trip. I love the background paper on this page so much it made me struggle to put something together, so I had this page on my desk for over a week before I finally sat down and finished it.
Journaling: Our first anniversary trip was perfect and very memorable. I still smile when I think about it. We started at a bed and breakfast in Spicer for a dinner cruise, spent the night and then went to Minneapolis the following morning. We went shopping, then checked into a wonderfully modern hotel...then we dressed for an amazing dinner at cosmos before heading off to the ballet to see a mid-summer nights dream. On our way back to our room we stopped for a drink. I loved it, loved every second and cannot wait for next year.
