The main Photo is of my Grandfather during WWII, at the Alaskan Air Depot.

The journaling on the three tags:
Tag 1:
I dedicate this to my
Grandfather, Leo Wimberly.
He fought for our freedom
In both WWII and
the Korean War.
He was a Staff Sergeant for the
United States Army for Twenty years.
During that time he was rewarded
the Bronze Star, For Distinguished
Performance of Duty while under fire.
He also was rewarded the
Combat Infantry Badge. For serving
In an Infantry Unit in a combat zone
while under fire.

Tag 2:
My grandfather sacrificed a
Great deal to be an officer
In the Army. During this time
He didn’t see his two daughters
Very often. My mother,
His youngest daughter grew up
Missing her father and only received
Pictures and letters from time to time.
Once my grandfather retired from the
Military, he then worked very hard
To restore his relationship with his daughters.
It took time and patience and it was worth every
Bit of it. In the last years of my grandfathers
Life my mother took care of him until his death.
Thank the Lord for second chances.

Tag 3:
My Grandfather’s Bronze Star and
Combat Infantry Badge is placed
On this page with pride and respect.
And most importantly, with my
Thanks, Because

Freedom Does NOT come Free!
