Oh, Tiff, I love the sentiment in this...similar memories here. I love the vintage paper that feels like what my gifts would have been wrapped up in from 1975; nice touch without the green there. The frames you made for the photos are cool. The santa from that era is a perfect add-in--if you wanted to go full whimsy with him, you could make him like a cut-out gift tag and do some added journaling on the back of him.
I like what vintage Santa brings to the page. I see the triangle created by the little text boxes. I'd consider moving "Who I Am" to that blue space just to the right of Santa's face. You'll still have a triangle that way, and then add red photo corners to the upper and bottom left corners of the page. Thanks for leaving the original lo up, btw. It helped to make the comparison.
Tiff, the Santa feels up the space and gives this lo a nice vintage look! Now everything looks more balanced. That little sticker(?) in the lower left corner balances the bottom side of the lo too.Very nice!
Tiff, I really love the non-traditional paper you used for this christmas page. Love that title, those stamps do look great. That vintage santa was the perfect addition to balance this page. it really helps with the flow. He is just so darn cute too (as are you!) The journaling is so lovely too, and so great you could remember this. Absolutely fantabulous
Ooh, the vintage Santa w/ the black matting is a perfect way to tie this all together! It gives a retro feel consistent w/ the older date, as well as adds a bit of Christmas AND balances things out by putting some weight on the left side & repeating the black & red that appears in the rest of the LO. Absolutely sweeet! :o)
Title: Christmas 1975 Journaling: Here we are: Dawn, Kindyl, and me hamming it up in front of the tree. Christmas Eve holds some of my best childhood memories. It wasn't just the promise of gifts under the tree... ... it was the promise of love & family that felt magical and made us sorry it had to end.
Thanks girls for all of your suggestions. I am so much happier with it now. Sorry, couldn't change the 1975, that is how the patterned paper was printed. Also, the stamped "christmas" is an autumn leaves alpha stamp set. :D
