I remember when I was a kid back in the 80s people use to communicate with each other. We use to have a Bell rotary phone. It sat on a telephone seat in the living room. We had one mounted on the wall in our basement too. Writing on paper was common. I would use it to take a phone message for Mom or Dad. We used lined paper to write and mail out a letter to someone. Gone are the days when you would see a mailbox on practically every street corner. As a kid it would be an excitement when someone sent a letter, postcard, or greeting card addressed to you. Gone are the days when your parents took snapshot photos with a camera that used film. You had to hold very still when getting your picture taken. You had to wait until the roll of film was used up before it could be developed into pictures. Once the pictures were ready people would show them to friends, relatives, and neighbors.

Sadly today people don’t communicate as much. People are stuck in their own little world. Many people sit down staring at their computer, cell phone or tablet lost in their own little world. Take the time to stop, look up, and enjoy the world around you. Life is too short.
