Hold on to it
Our son Bas had to go to the hospital for a few days. He’s ok now and home again. This thumb is everything for him. I thought it was a funny to see his arm wrapped, with only his favourite thumb left out.

14 December 2007. You have to cough a lot and you’re puking. In the middle of in the night we have to go to the hospital. It has been exactly one year ago. You’re not frightened at all and when the IV is placed you’re even interested. Fortunately your favourite thumb is left out. When they check your glucose level every 4 hours with an injection you even say: “thanks for the shot!” Incredible. And if you see that mummy will stay with you and can sleeps in the bed next to you it’s partytime. Loud singing you enter the night, the consequence is a sleepless night, not only for you. If the IV has to go out, you don’t think it’s fun anymore and you start to cry. And that’s okay, because you have been so considerable. And sweet.
