Back to school is always a particularly tough time in our house. Both of you have always been extremely sensitive to the change from the lazy days of summer to the structure and routine of school. There’s always lots of tears, anxiety and worry.
I know that it is the best thing for the both of you and once you adjust you actually enjoy the learning journey, however it’s excruciating to see you so sad, year after year. I am torn between watching you go off into the world or keeping you at home, safe with me.
Just know that every year when I see you off, a piece of my heart always goes with you.
