Tara, thanks for your patience, I finally got this done, Tara challenged us paper dolls to create a page about our own beauty, we had to list 5 beautiful physical features, 5 personality traits, 5 things that we are grateful for and 5 achievements - MAN !!!!!!!! this was hard !!!!!!!!!! My journalling is in a little envelope behind the photo,**********WARNING ********** the journalling is VERY long and VERY boring - proceed at risk of falling asleep, here goes ....................................................................................................................................................This page was one of the hardest I have ever created. I do not see beauty when I look in the mirror. I see a rather plain looking face and an average body but I am not unhappy with it. I have issues with my nose and my butt. My nose is larger than I would like but it is similar to my dads and my dad is a good looking man, his nose suits him and so I have learnt that although my nose would look better on a man or someone with a larger face than my own, it is a constant reminder of my dad, and I love that fact. My backside is another issue entirely, I have no idea where my large posterior has been inherited from, no-one else in my family has a large rear end, but thankfully it is the one area of my body I cannot see so it can be fairly easily ignored.
The challenge to write this journalling had made me realise a lot about myself and my values and I know that by scrutinising myself in this way I do not recognise beauty in a physical way normally. I see beauty in the loving way an aged and wrinkled hand covered in liver spots with gnarled knuckles reaches out gently and caresses the cheek of a grandchild. I see beauty in the tone of voice used by a tired and overworked nurse caring for a disabled child, I see beauty in the face of a 20 stone rugby player, with cauliflower ears and a nose broken more times than he can remember, as he stoops to pick up an opponent with genuine concern for his wellbeing.
All that said here are the attributes I think make me a beautiful person:

5 Physical features - My skin, it is soft and is a lovely colour, even after three children I have no stretch marks at all and very few blemishes, I have no wrinkles either - yet!!! More importantly my skin provides me with the sense of touch. A hug has the capacity to ease all manner of woes and my skin allows me to feel those hugs
My hands, they are small and neat. They have wiped my childrens tears and held the hands of every person I truly love
My eyes, they are a deep brown and an oval shape and lots of people have told me I have beautiful eyes, without which I would not be able to see the smiles of my loved ones
I am tall, I love being tall, lots of people make positive comments about my height
I have good proportion - although I have a few extra pounds, it is all in proportion and can be fairly easily hidden with the right clothes

Personality traits - I am a kind person and one that others turn to for comfort, people tell me they feel better when they have spent time in my company, this means the world to me
I am very loving, once I love someone that is it, my feelings are intense for them and I will do anything for them, I will protect them and care for them and I have not yet ever stopped loving a person even if they let me down or treated me badly
I am compassionate, I put myself in other shoes and feel their pain, if I can help then I will, if I can't then I will shed a tear along with them and offer comfort
I have a good sense of humour and can see the funny side of most situations, I love to laugh and to see others laugh and there is no sweeter sound than that of a child giggling
I am capable, yes I know lots of people are capable, but I have always been the one to try anything, I can do DIY, decorating, I can cook and care for my family, I have worked diverse and at times demanding jobs, I am strong willed and determined and once I have decided to do something then I get it done, I have been taught priceless life lessons by my parents, who are both 'can do' people and have learnt to be totally self sufficient and to look to myself first when I am faced with a challenge

5 things I am grateful for - My parents, they are my rocks, they never let me down, they are unconditional in their love for me and for that I will never be able to repay them
My husband, Neil. We have had our ups and downs like many people but we have a strong bond and are true soul mates, after 20 years together ,15 of them married, I can honestly say my love for him deepens with each passing year and he completes me
My children, I never knew a love like this existed, until I had my children, they have taught me as much as I have taught them, they bring sunshine and laughter to each and every day
My health, I have never been seriously ill and can't remember the last time I had a cough or cold, I am strong and heal quickly and easily, I have never broken anything and my body has served me well, I had three perfect pregnancies and three perfect deliveries
My brains, I am not the most clever person in the world, but I did well at school, I pick things up easily and can think most problems through, I am level headed and thoughtful, I love to read and to learn

5 Achievements - My children, they are good kids and I think I can take a little credit for that
At 18 years old, I moved 400 miles from home to start a responsible job for the civil service in London, I lived on my own and supported myself, I lived and worked in a city that was scary to a country bumpkin like me, I even saved up enough money for a foreign holiday and travelled on my own for the first time in my life
I recently completed a 5km 'Race for life' in aid of Cancer Research, I am not a sporty person in the slightest but took pride in the fact that I got round that course and mostly by running
I did well at school, I was not the best scholar but was above average and I won a chemistry competition with 3 fellow classmates, we were the only girls in the competition and took great satisfaction in beating all the boys
Scrapbooking, I love the creative outlet scrapbooking provides and it brings a lot of joy to my family, I have been told my pages are beautiful, so to create lasting memories in a creative and pleasing manner is for me a massive achievement
