This one has been brewing in my head for months, and I finally got it down on paper. I am EXTREMELY happy with it, especially since I'm still in a scrappers block. The file folder opens to reveal the journaling done in a different type of ABC style. (I saw someone else here do it some time ago, I'm not sure who it was, please let me know if it was you or you know who did it because I want to thank you for the inspiration!) Instead of each sentence starting with the letter A B or C, I incorperated the words that begin with that letter into the sentence. In person, I have that particular letter in a bigger font and a different color to stand out more, but hopefully you can get the idea.

I hand wrote the letter at the end to him. I am doing one for Noah, most of his letters are the same, except the R for him is: I had never even heard of RSV until the day you were hospitalized with it when you were 5 weeks old.

Here it is if you are interested:

I never knew that being pregnant could be so Amazing

I never knew that sometimes a Band-Aid is the only thing that could make it all better

I never would have imagined that red Crayon marks would stain carpet

I never thought that little boys could love Dora the Explorer just as much as any little girl

I never imagined that I would get so Excited about someone going to the bathroom

I never knew that my Fridge would hold so many priceless pieces of art work

I used to think that when my Mom licked her finger to wipe something from my face it was Gross, now I do it myself

I never knew I could actually feel it when you Hurt

I never imagined how Incredibly difficult it is to try to be a good mother to you

I’d forgotten just how fun it was to Jump on the bed

I never knew just how patient some Kittens are when placed in a house with a 1 year old and a 3 year old

I never dreamed I could Love someone as deeply as I love you
I never knew it would make me so happy to hear a tiny little voice call me “Mommy”

I never would have thought that your afternoon Nap was sometimes more important for me than it was for you

I never knew that a little boy could run as fast an Olympic athlete, especially when we are at the mall

I realized that being a Parent was so much easier to do before I actually became one

I didn’t know that a Quesadilla was one of the four food groups

I don’t remember the last time I was able to listen to the Radio in my car without some sort of kid’s music coming out of it

I never realized that a Smile could actually give me butterflies in my stomach

I never knew what an important role Teletubbies would play in the first two years of your life

I never truly Understood until now what exactly my parents meant when they said, “This is harder on me than it is on you.”

I learned Very quickly that string isn’t the only thing that can be wrapped around my finger

I never imagined that I would sometimes get Wetter than you when you were the one in the bathtub

I never would have known that sometimes those eXtra diapers that I packed still weren’t enough

I didn’t know that dirty diapers really don’t smell all that Yucky when they belong to your own child

I’d forgotten that the Zoo really is an exiting place

My handwritten letter:
Little Man,

My, how I’VE grown since I becoming a Mom, and let me tell you, it is a lot harder than I ever thought! I hope that I am doing a good job, because honestly, some days I’m not so sure. But having you as a son? I couldn’t have asked for anyone better than you! Each and every day I think about how special you are and how extremely lucky I am to be my son. Do I love you and do you make me happy? “Absoloopy!”
