left page layout about the old button box my mom had when I was growing up. I made her a clock for mother's day from the buttons and made a layout to tell the story. The journaling says:
The Button Box….

Zombies. “A Delicious Coconut Confection Flavored with Fine Imported Rum.

Seeing the tin on the kitchen table may make a guest’s mouth water, but to our family it meant something needed a button. Mom’s button box was a box of treasures. Looking through it is a trip down memory lane. There are buttons made of leather, wool, tweed, metal and plastic. They came from dad’s jacket and mom’s wool dress coat. Some from grandma’s dresses or my fancy blouses. There are even buttons from the living room chair.

As a child I loved playing with all the unique and colorful buttons, lining them up and making up stories about them. When mom sold the house and gave away the sewing machine, she gave me the button box. I treasure the box and in honor of mother’s day, I made mom a clock from some of the buttons. Happy Mother’s Day 2008!
