This is one of the pages that goes into my 12x12 annual Christmas album. I tried something new I saw in my "Scrapbook Borders, Corners & Titles" book by Memory Makers - I used stickers and blue vellum to make a landscape of hills and trees and houses and a frozen pond with reflections in it - it was fun to make but took a LONG time (layers of glitter glue drying, etc).

The tag sized photos are of my grandparents' back yard and birds in the feeder in Christmas of 2005 - the larger photo is of me and my grandpa in front of a beautiful tree covered in ice.

I did a LOT of inking on this page, especially on the edges of most items and I also stamped the tags with 2 different blue colored lacy snowflakes before I put the photos on. I was really stepping out of my box when making this page (by spending so much time and effort on such a large banner), but I think it is good to stretch! :-)

The journaling tags list the reasons I like to travel north in the winter and the reasons I don't:
*Blankets of snow in the yard and ice-covered branches on the trees remind me of the many winters I spent growing up in Michigan
*I feel wonderful when I visit with my family
*I feel trapped inside a stuffy house
*I love the feel of the fireplace warming my back as I sit on the hearth
*I feel clumsy each time I have to cross the icy walks or have to climb into a frosty car
*When I think about the winter, I can identify with both the good and the bad components, because those things are what I knew growing up - they are a part of me
*Overall, I would have to say that Michigan in the winter season is truly a Winter Wonderland
