Merry &amp; Bright

Ilove how you keep the focus on the photo and your photos are all awesome! I love the clean, simple look but that really supports the photo and gets the message across.

Hi Angela! I love this pic and the combo of papers. I would have to agree that the font clashes with the paper style. However, I would also have to add that I love it that way! :) I like the look of "merging styles." I thought about the title and I think it works because of the lights - "Merry and BRIGHT". If there weren't any lights I would suggest maybe considering another title, but it works. :) Another beauty! TFS.

Angela....I really like this lo...i love the paper you used and the simplicity of it. I love the picture of your daughter! So so cute. I don't think i would change anything. I do like Lelynne advice about changing the title to "May your days be merry and bright"... Awesome work...i really enjoy looking at you lo's for inspiration!

Although I do think it should have been mounted on black the rest is perfect! Don't change a thing! My scrapbook pet peeve is having too much. So many people these days are trying so hard to pack the page with stuff that it is too overwhelming. Sometimes less is more. The white space is great. Any more pattern or color would have made you loose you precious pic even more! And I like that it is asymetrical. It adds more interest. I like the font. You did a great job! What a cute photo! and great LO!

aww... isn't she cute with those lights?! ;) love the paper choice and mix! :) *i* personally think that the pic doesn't need to be matted... although, to keep the white background of the photo from blending with the white cs, *i* would extend that polka dotted paper (on the left) some more to reach a little bit more to the bottom of the page so it would partially frame the pic... kwim? ;) love the font of the title although *i* feel that the title per se doesn't quite suit Ava's photo. how about, "May Your Days Be Merry and Bright" only if you want to keep that Christmas theme? this is a great LO, i love it with those hip papers! :d

perhaps the minority is catching up to the majority because I think it's perfect as is as well. I totally picked it out of the gallery. I think that title is so cute, and the pp's. I love the white space, and the corners are adorable! and what a sweet pic!

I think I am in the minority too. When I first saw this in the gallery, it immediately jumped out at me. I love the amount of white space that there is...really lets you concentrate on the photo and I think the photo corners are the perfect touch!!! I also like that the photo blends into the background cs so that Ava really pops out at you and to me her in her little red dress is the first thing that caught my eye in this lo!! Great job as always!!!!!

You do such awesome lo's of your dd, she's so beautiful. I also looked at a TON of your gallery when I joined this group. Ok I also go along with there being too much white space. With the light background in the pic, it seems to blend in with the white paper. I would maybe mat the photo, keep the photo corner (I LOVE IT!) and change the font. You do such amazing work, I am positive that you will come up with something that will just wow and amaze us all!!!!

I have to agree with Becky here, I do LOVE the way this is a little funky and a little classy, I like the way the white of the photo blends into the background and it is *Ava* that I see. Also-just my opinion. :)

Angela, I think this is perfection. It jumped out at me immediately. I may be a lone voice here, but I do NOT think the pic needs to be matted. I think the corners are the *perfect* touch. I completely love this lo---the amount of pp with the white space is gorgeous and not overdone IMO. If I were going to change anything, it would be to shift the Merry and Bright over a titch to the left so it is centered in its space. That said, *I* would leave the lo as is---I think it is gorgeous. I even like the font!! lol I am feeling a little contrary to everyone else---but perhaps my style *is* contrary these days - lol GREAT work and darling pic.

I love this LO. It's simple and cool. For me personally, it's the font. I think it kinda clashes. Just my opinion. Other than that, I love the white space and the design of the layout.

I love the LOs you do of your daughter. I looked at ALL of them before deciding to join this group! I think the photo doesn't "pop" out. The first thing that caught my eye was the polka dot paper (probably not your intent). I would mat with black, keep the photo corners, and try that on top of the paper. I second DeeplyDippy's thought about the font. Something funkier...to go with the paper. I'm not up on font names so I can't suggest a funky one. Sorry! Can't wait to see what you do...I'm inspired by your LOs.

Morning folks! Angela - what a fab picture, I love the white space, but I do think the photo needs some more colour behind it on the right hand side. I know they have corners on them, but its still not making the photo stand out the way it deserves. "Christmas Curiosity" ? I also had a thought (yes, I do have them every so often ;) ) To me you're using really cool, funky paper, while the font is quite traditional, and for me this clashes. Anyway, theres my 2 cents! I can't wait to see what happens to this layout, whatever you do I know it'll look great.

Love the photo it is a classic, OMG I hate to be the first to critique!! Love the papers too. What doesn't see to go together are the photo and the title, Ava is concentrating on those lights so intently, she is not looking into the camera, which makes for a super photo, but is she Merry and Bright. I think another thing that bothers me is the amount of white space, which is apparently a new trend that will be hard for me to embrace for my own layouts, but which I must learn to critique objectively. I would use more of the patterned paper, not covering the whole page necessarily, but at least framing the photo as the edges fade into to the white background and the photo does not stand out as it deserves to. Then a title that escapes me like electryfing concentration, intent examination -- both suck -- Now How does this Work --did I just uselessly babble? The photo is special, it captures Ava intent on a Christmas object, maybe wanting to understand it. It is different, not laughing, no crying, but inquisitive maybe.
