Haney Meadow, Blewett pass
Date: 2/15/2009
RT: 8 miles

Adventurers: Aaron, Andrew, Kirsten, Jim, Laura, Dave, Sergei

The sky was clear and the mountains were out when we left North Bend shortly after 7:00 a.m. but our hopes for nice clear day disappeared at Snoqualmie pass where we drove into clouds. We did not see any sign of clear sky for the rest of the day and once we arrived at the trailhead, it was actually snowing. Not heavily but quite steadily.

The route starts at Blewett Pass sno-park which is a multi use one and upon arrival few groups were already unloading snowmobiles. Fortunately the route is not shared for long and soon we turned off to the single track trail leading through peaceful wintry forest away from the noise and smell of the machines.

The trail was packed for about couple miles but after that we got to a beautiful winter playground with deeper snow and some steeper slopes. It was so much fun to be in a fresh powder again.
