How stunning - that you've placed that black frame half-way through the face - and how clever; it works perfectly. Have so enjoyed reading the "I have learned .." quotes and can relate to so many! The flowers and butterfly are really beautiful.
Absolutely amazing - well worth stepping out of your comfort zone! (very difficult to let the kids make their own decisions though, isnt it? What do they know?!!)
I don't feel comfortable with layouts about me, but this layout shows: It is SO important to scrap your inner thoughts! The generations to come will cherish it!
LOVE this Susan!!! Beautiful!!! And what great ideas with the white lettering and the clip art!!! I don't know what copic markers are...........but I'm gonna find out!!
BEAUTIFUL!
Thought this looked familiar- good for you for stepping outside your comfort zone! Love those pretty flowers and butterflies!! And your journaling is wonderful! Fantastic work!
:) I am so flattered and I think you lifted it brilliantly! What friends are these that would challenge you to scrap this layout of mine? I think that is such a fabulous idea, and I would love to go see who they all lifted!
Susan, your journaling gave me goosebumps; absolutely wonderful!!!!! Love all the elements and fabulous work you done here! Your embellies are glorious and this layout is simply remarkable!!! I truly love it so much!!!!! Excellent work, my friend!!!
I have to be frank with you Susan, I didn't know you had a box. Everything you do looks fresh, innovative and beautiful. I recognized this as Heidi's design immediately, having fallen instantly in love with her original, but at the same time it is so you. The journaling is every bit as beautiful as the layout. Love it all!
This is awesome. You are very artistic and creative to do so many styles. You really got out of the box on this one and I love it as much as any of your other layouts.
I believe that one of the best things about scrapbooking is the opportunity to amaze ourselves. That's what you did here with this stunning layout: the photo and the way that it's framed, the beautiful handmade embellishments, the choice of colors, the lovely design with perfect use of white space ~~ Sue, this is just stunning!!!!
oh Susan...the list of things you have learned, they are spot on!!!! wonderful wisdom...and the LO is just fantastic..love the eyes!! also the name at the bottom, I thought it was suppose to be that way...it looks good!!! REally!!!
you have done a fantastic job with this. great embelishments and the writing at the bottom of the page looks like it is meant to be that way...looks great, in other words. a fave!
Susan, this is simply beautiful!! I LOVE what you did with your handmade embellishing!! The journaling is fantastic and actually, I think the slope on the handwriting is perfect and gives it something special!! Fantastic layout!!!
This layout is WAY out of my comfort zone!!! This was a challenge from several friends to scrap something that was really outside the box for each of us. This is a total lift of Heidi Kelley's "I am in the Details". I made most of the embellies on this. The transparency frame was a brush from PSE 7, the title letters were done in Word with a text box so that I could get the white lettering. The pink flowers and stem are a clipart that I found online a long time ago, printed it out, cut it out and colored it with Copic markers. The clock face is a Heidi Swapp stamp, the small and medium butterflies were cut from ppr and the big butterfly was printed on a transparency and cut out. I added Kaiser pearls to the blooms, and bling and stickles to the butterflies. The three embellies (imagine, believe, and dream) are some little word blocks that I've had FOREVER! And...yes I wrote my name and the year on the bottom and it's crooked! Drat! Too late to change it! The journaling you can see behind the transparency is tucked behind the photo and reads:
• I've learned that that loving someone can make me very happy and very sad. • I've learned that there's nothing sweeter, than holding a baby in your arms as you gently rock them to sleep. • I've learned that children rarely do what you expect them to do. • I've learned that my heart belongs to my family. • I've learned that life goes by too quickly and I must take advantage of every minute I've been given. • I've learned that crying doesn't solve my problems. • I've learned that my grandchildren make me happy. • I've learned that no matter how much I love my children, they are grown and can make a decision without the benefit of my input. • I've learned that all decisions have consequences, and it's better to think the decision through and acknowledge all possible consequences before putting a plan into action. • I've learned that my faith has pulled me through many difficult times.
It's really a great challenge to step outside your comfort zone! Thanks so much for stopping by!
