My sweet boy. Journalling reads:
Duffy didn’t play. From the day he came to live with me, at the age of 3, he steadfastly refused to play with any toys I bought him. He’d chase me around the back yard and he’d fetch things that were edible, but he wouldn’t play with balls or stuffed animals, and he was scared to death of the Frisbee Joanne bought him for Christmas one year.
Except when it snowed… it didn’t matter how much or how little – when there was snow on the ground, Duffy turned into a puppy. He jumped and snuffled, he used his nose to throw snow up into the air… and we walked and walked and walked. Duffy’s delight in the snow made it worth every cold toe and finger.
