If I say that all my scrap layouts from now on will be about retired racing Greyhounds, I'm making a very accurate statement...!

Justin and I met our new Greyhound yesterday!

Journaling reads:

"On Sept. 18th, 2010, Justin and I attended our first 'Kennel Day' with GPA-WI, the Greyhound rescue group. At Kennel Days, volunteers clean the cages, walk the dogs, trim nails, etc. We did not volunteer, though - instead, we met our new best friend! Our adoption rep introduced us to four available dogs that she'd matched with our needs. We met two boys - one white/brindle and one fawn, and two girls - both brindle. Our very TOUGH decision came down to a boy and a girl - Barney and Banji. In the end, we chose Barney! He had an 'anything goes' sort of personality. He was easy-going, friendly, and fun! He will now get acclimated to home life in foster, then he will come home to us in two weeks! And, that's why 'Bernie's' adoption status has changed to: 'ADOPTION PENDING.'

It's a little hard to see, but in these photos, I wrote "ADOPTED!!!" on his cage sticker.

I'm so excited it's disgusting.
