SHCG: these are a great set of pictures and love the design :) as far as journaling, maybe you could make some of the pictures "pockets" so you can put extra journaling in there. as far as embellishments, i can see hanging glittery christmas balls in the top left hand corner and a cute christmas tree on the bottom. i know whatever you do it'll be fab :)
SHCG: Cute! I like the combination pf pps and photos..those cookies look yummy! I feel that the circles across the center need to be pinned down with some pp or ribbon because they look like they are floatng.
SHCG - Fab lift! Fun photos, you did them justice so far on this festive spread. Great pp array. I think that the3rd column of pics (ie the left photos on the right page) could meet together in the middle, the way the 2nd column of pics (ie the right photos on the left page) do... I just think it might be cool to have the 2 innermost columns of pics meet in the middle, then have the circles peeking out between the 1st & 4th columns that don't meet (hope that makes sense). I agree w/ previous comments to back the circles in cs for more emphasis, as well as to back the stamp so it stands out more amidst all the liveliness. PS those cookies look divine & delish!! Kudos to creating again after your hiatus!
SHCG: very cute LO. I noticed the circle embellies got a bit lost then I read the comments from others...so....ditto...something behind them will help them pop a bit. I know some people don't like to write on the photos but you could consider it, just to identify everyone and then use the journal spot for the story. And if it is a long story, consider putting the stamp for the journaling on the front of a folded piece of carstock. Nice scraplift!
SHCG: Fun pics and great way to celebrate! I love the design and the pps you used! I have few suggestions-I would use cs( either circles or a strip), ribbon( a strip) right under the circles to make them connect and stand out more. I would also swap the places of the stamp and the the " We Will Be.." embellie-the stamp is bigger so I think it should go on the bottom half. Well, great job so far and can't wait to see what this lo ends up like!
shcg - before I read your description, I was like, "hey, this looks familiar!" LOL. Obviously, I like the design ;) and I do love the paper choices. Some thoughts: back the circular embellishments with a solid cardstock to promote some uniformity and make them jump from the page versus being a bit lost. If it were me, I might also mat the sentiment at the bottom right as well. Will you be stamping directly on the layout, on cardstock and adhering? Just some thoughts that I hope help. :)
This is for the 2011 SHCG BWC #6 to scrapjack the member who preceded our uploads to our critique thread. I had the pleasure of applying my interpretation of Chris's (CMLeach) two-pager, "Family Photos-July 2010." http://www.scrapbook.com/galleries/221573/view/3015341/-1.html It was the perfect one to lift me out of my months-long scrapping hiatus, as it was simple enough, yet had a lot of interest. Thank you, Chris.
It pretty much is a direct scrapjack, minus the brads and brackets. Also, I didn't slightly overlap the sentiment pieces onto the pics. The stamp will double as the title and journaling, but I'm having a hard time keeping the notes to a minimum. Nothing is adhered. I am requesting critiques and suggestions only, at this time please, for this work in progress.
