So beautiful I just love the pps you used! The trip you took sounds quite wonderful-a lot like one I had the chance to take when I was 17 only for a national honor band. Such fantastic memories it made! It sounds like we'll be seeing a lot of fabulous photos from you of your trip in upcoming challenges!
BEAUTIFUL- love the story to go with it. At 14 I went to Alaska w/my Girl Scout troop- the trip to Europe sounds so much more fascinating & you LO is gorgeous.
I have had several panoramic photos I took while I was in Europe as a 16-year-old that I've been dying to scrap. And suddenly here comes Courtney with her fabulous Feeling French challenge and voila, my motivation is complete! :o) I used almost exclusively the December 'Winter's Eve' kit from Scraps of Darkness. I loved the rich black/white pprs with the pops of color and only added a few outside elements. I water distressed the bg page, added doilies and found some elegant ribbons at a local fabric store.
About the photo: The summer I turned 16 I was selected to go play soccer with a select team from my state in Europe for a month. We traveled to France, Germany, Switzerland, and Holland and participated in the Holland Cup in Amsterdam at the end of the trip. It was an amazing experience to say the least, and a once in a lifetime one for a 16 year old girl. (At the time, we were sort of a pria because several places we visited, women soccer players and especially teams were very, very rare or still very new.) We only spent 3 days in Paris, but I'll never forget the experience there as well as every country we visited! The camera I took (which I broke halfway through the trip by dropping it while we were up in the Swiss Alps!) was this unique one my parents found that had three different angle settings - standard, wide and panoramic. Consequently I only have about 5-6 panoramic photos and the rest were taken on disposables or received from my teammates.
I didn't realize it until I was looking at the completed pages, but I ended up doing five of the six required elements (we only had to do 3!) and I found that each page had at least 3 as well! Totally random. They were an Eifle Tower, fleur di lis, french word or phrase, lace and crown. The only one I didn't use was a dress form. My French is pretty rusty (it's been 14 years since my last class!), but I think the phrase is correct, and says 'The city by the Seine', which is the name of the river that flows through Paris. If it's not correct, I apologize! TFL!
