That is too funny-great story!!! Love the birdcage! Your title is perfect! Love the way you made the story the focus of the LO! And thanks for the laugh!!!
hahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!! OMW!!!!!!!!!!! I laughed soooo hard reading this!!!! what a treasure to keep for years to come!!! that story is hilarious and sooooo much fun!! what a hoot!!!! thanks so much for sharing this endearing story, Laurie!!
Yes this definitely brings a smile to the face...and a tummyache from laughing. The birdcage is adorable and your title and wanted poster are hilarious.
OMGosh Laurie!!!!!! That is just the best story ever!!! Sounds like something out of a movie! I can just see them trying to get that envelope out!!!! So funny! Your title is perfect & so is your bird cage!!!! Such fabulous fun!
haha, OMG! Poor things, I could imagine how embarrassed they were! I'm glad they finally made it to the reception at least! oh wow! haha! Awesome story! Luv the wedding crashers, handcuffs, & cop car!! :)
The story! Its great that we can still make fools of ourselves and share the story with others. Bet this is one of the Wedding Day stories the bride and groom will always remember.
rofl! That is to funny! I love how you captured the moment! I'm sure everyone was wondering why they were taking stuff out of the cage!!! Love how you put the entire story on the lo...which I read before I saw that you had it typed out!!! And hey! Great great job on doing a lo!!! You set a fine example for me!!!
Too funny, the Reader's Digest Version, I remember that I used to read only the silly stories, not the articles! Just imagine if the police and handcuffs had really come into play! Why do the most embarrassing situations turn out to be the funniest? Great story Laurie!
ROFL!! That story is priceless, Laurie! Sounds like the kind of thing that would happen to me!! love the hancuffs, caution tape and birdcage with the card sticking out; they must've felt so weird trying to get the card out! I remember one time DD and I were at a bridal shower and I suddenly realized I'd forgotten to sign our names to the card, so I went sneaking up to the gift pile to fish it out and sign it...awkward and embarassing!! love the fun feel of this and the way you focused on the story but still made it so cute!
Wonderful story...you are a great journaler!! I feel bad for them, they must have been mortified!! AWESOME lo!! Your pps colours compliment your photo so beautifully! Love the WANTED above them, the police car and the cage with the invite !!
I bet you never laughed so hard in all of your life!!!!! Thank you for the giggles that I got today! Now about your layout: I love how you made the story the center of your layout! This is what scrapping is all about! I love all of your great details and couldn't agree with Vickie more - Very creative, my friend!!!!!! I love it!
OMG Laurie, this is sooooooo funny and the lo is PERFECT for the Bird Cage Caper!!! I am still laughing!!! This definitely made me smile and I KNOW it will make A & E smile too. There are so many great details here - love the caution tape, the squad car, the handcuffs (LOL) and the journaling strips with "bits" of the story. You managed to get the WHOLE story in and make it a fun fun fun lo. Very CREATIVE my friend. Great job with the doodling too!
This is just a simple, basic lo because I wanted the story to be the focus. There are so many details to this story that I just couldn't include them all in my journaling, but tried to hit the highlights. The Reader's Digest condensed version goes like this:
These are my dgd's great-grandparents. The wedding was held up because they hadn't arrived yet. Come to find out, they got lost and went to a car dealership to get directions. The man there told them he would just program directions into their GPS. Little did they know, there were 2 weddings that day side by side. Yes, you got it!! They went to the wrong wedding!! Marched right in and put their wedding card into a well-displayed birdcage. Great-grandma felt uncomfortable because she didn't recognize anyone. Then she saw the bride (from behind) and felt somewhat better but realized the bride had long, blonde hair. She asked great-grandpa when my dgd did that to her hair. lol THEN, she looked around and noticed the groom's name was Derek!!! Oops! Now realizing they were at the wrong wedding, they made a beeline back to the birdcage to retrieve their card. Fortunately, one small corner was hanging out the side. Guests were arriving as they were trying to yank their card out. They said they both felt so embarrassed and felt like criminals. They finally got the card and were able to make their great escape without too much commotion. We sat next to them at the reception and laughed ourselves silly the WHOLE night over that wonderful story. It got better and better the more we talked about it!!!
I wanted this lo to just be fun and lighthearted. I know there are stunning birdcages out there, but I am also trying not to purchase new things and opted to make my own. I also wanted to be able to have a card hanging out the side! lol Thank you Vickie (AKA Happy Go Lucky) for sending me the pattern for the birdcage.
Thanks so much for taking your time to look. I hope the story brought a smile to your face too!!
