My dd was in 9 dances in her recital in 2011 - three of them were for her Advanced/Intermediate Tap class. They only had us buy a 'real' costume for one of the three, though, so for the others they wore their own denim shorts and t-shirts they painted themselves at a slumber party before picture day. For this one, they all chose different bright-colored t's to paint - Cassie was the only one to pick yellow. I don't know if the photographer was having an off day, or if it was just the pressure of the first time we had to come up with so many poses and do so many costume changes in one day (the previous year, she was in 5 dances), but of the nine, I only really like three, two are 'okay,' and two are terrible. The other two are not bad photos, but her expressions don't fit the dances so I don't really like them. This is one of the ones that I really like - the song, S.I.M.P {Squirrels in My Pants}, is from Phineas and Ferb. LOL You can see the LO's I've completed for other 2011 dances and earlier years in my Dance LO's Album in my gallery. All her professional dance portraits have been taken by Cass Photography.

This is my example for my July Four Categories Challenge - Category Three ~ Technique: Doodling. The twist is to do doodling in red, white, or blue. I doodled red stitching around the inside of the scalloped circle and red squiggles/dots around the border of the LO, and I doodled white dots around the black scallops. I also doodled double messy lines in black on all the oval/circle shapes.

I used a sketch from an old Page Maps, Etc. challenge that I didn't get to at the time - I think it was November '12.

I used the colors from their shirts for the LO. I cut the title letters with my Cricut using the Stamped and Plantin Schoolbook carts and the scalloped circle using the Elegant Edges cart.
