The complete title for this is “Until One Has Loved an Animal a Part of One's Soul Remains Unawakened”. This is Assignment H of my HOF Entry. and is about my love for animals. The Journaling reads as follows: All through my life I have had a pet. A small or large, cuddly, furry. wet-nosed, four-legged friend. My pets were the best friends a child could ever have – sometimes they were the only friends that I had. I have had eleven pets in my lifetime, and I remember each of their names. There was Charlie, a Black Poodle; Kellie, a White Poodle, Casey, an Irish Setter; Sherry, an Afghan Hound; Tommy, a White Persian; Rusty an Orange Tabby; Ollie, A White Himalayan; Skippy a long-haired Orange Tabby; Joey, a short-haired Orange Tabby; Charlie, a Black Tabby; and Snoopy, a cat who thinks he's a dog. These eleven friends were all my pets. Without their attention, love, and need for love, I wouldn't be the type of person I am today. I am a person who has gone to a farm and used an entire roll of film on just one cow. I am a person who has sat for an hour waiting patiently for their cat to look at the camera in just the right way. I am a person who has layed on a couch hoping that one of her pets would decide that they would like to cuddle. Why do I do these things? Simple. I am an animal lover.“Until one has loved an animal, a part of one's soul remains unawakened” - Anatole FranceThe first time I ever saw this quote I thought how true it's words were. I have had the love of many animals. And they have loved me no matter what, each bringing a different kind of comfort to me. If I was in a bad mood, they still wanted to cuddle –If I was in a good mood they wanted to play. I think that they all knew how I felt on the inside and sensed when I needed some extra love. I think that with all of the love that I have given to my pets and as well as the love that I have received from them, that I have a pretty big soul. There are many animals in heaven, some of them mine. They are waiting for me, so that we can love each other again. And when I arrive and they meet me, I will have the most liveliest soul, because I have loved and been loved by many, and will continue to do so until my time comes. Because the quote says the truth, “Until One has Loved an Animal, A Part of One's Soul Remains Unawakened.”
