Page for my album about my grandparents. Scraps of fabric with MM rub-ons and stitching, MM leather frame, pp and AL rub-ons. Journaling is on a tag under the picture and reads: The conch shell…her gift to me. When Nana was first diagnosed with breast cancer, she asked each granddaughter to pick out a piece of jewelry. This is what I chose and I'm so grateful I did. Nana had this made at a local jeweler and wore it often. When she died, I wore this as a way to feel closer to her. She was the first person who was close to me that died & I didn't take it well. I can remember sitting in my 9th grade classes and holding the shell hanging around my neck. Somehow, it always made me feel better. I don't wear the necklace much now because I am afraid I will lose it, but I still hold it close to me. The conch shell necklace is a special reminder of my Nana and how much she loved me.
