However did I miss this...it is breathtaking. I love all the green and the wonderful design. You always add the most intriguing embellishments..that jute is so cool there. Thanks for the instructions on how you made this work of art...I just yesterday got a bunch of scrappy things I don't use (scared to?) out of a box, ready to try some multi media design and there it all sits...just don't know where to start. This is kind of inspiring me to sit down and git 'er done.
This is beautiful beyond my capability to express - you do such impressive and lovely mixed media work and this is a stunning example. The spring shades and the pretty floral touches (wallpaper no less!) are exquisite.
So Stunning! Both the lo and your Beautiful Mother. I've missed looking at your fabulous work! I've moved and been working so no time for scrapping in some time. I did need some inspiration to make it through the rest of tax season, and thanks to your gallery, I found it! Hope all is Great with you! All of your lo are the BEST!
This page really spoke to me and moved me. I guess I am ready for spring and can feel it coming soon, I hope! Your layout is gorgeous in so many ways - I love the image, the beautiful quote, and the amazing title!
Such a fabulous, delicate LO - I love the colors, the flowers, the stamping and stenciling and the quote. What a great idea to use your mother's lace and wallpaper cutouts. You've really created a wonderland for this lovely black and white photo of your mother.
I LOVE the MAGICAL way you have transformed a plain piece of white cardstock into a MASTERPIECE. The colors, textures, techniques and little bits of personal pieces have been brought to life! Perfect in every way Natalie.
Wow! What a fabulous job you did on this starting from scratch with plain old white paper! Amazing! Love all the wonderful textures, color scheme, journaling and embellies. Beautiful!
This is my entry for the February Scrap Around The World challenge. The moodboard is a beautiful, romantic mix of Spring like tones!
I seem to be taking my Mother as my muse lately, and have used an old photo of her taken in 1945.
I started with a plain piece of white cardstock, and onto this I did some random stamping. Then I put molding paste through various stencils. Inspired by the ombre tones of green and yellow, I sprayed inks and also applied them with a brush, building up the layers slowly until I got them where I wanted them. I did more stamping, framed and layered up the photo, and applied it over a piece of old trim which I colorized. Then I added pieces of old laces and fussy cut wallpaper, both of which belonged to Mom, the wallpaper actually hung in a room in her home at one time. These pieces I layered around the photo, the quotation (by W. de la Mare), and the right hand side of the layout. I added beads, and braided a piece of jute twine very loosely and affixed it to the left hand side of my page.
Here's to Spring, we could sure use it right about now here in frigid and snowy New England!!
Many thanks to all who might look at my page and leave a comment, I greatly appreciate this!!
