oh ya, i forgot to say this. be thankful for encouraging parents who lift you up and are so eager to assure you at what was one of their "worst" hours. I hope God gives double what they had when the hurricane hit. They sound like wonderful precious parents.
First of All, the journaling is wonderful. And, wow the way you hid the journaling is cool, it *doesn't* take away from that PRECIOUS photo or the AMAZING flower. I showed my son this, and he said it was way cool. He has done art and wants to go to college for art. You really did an amazing job here. So far, it is one of my very favorite pages. Awesome story, Sweet photo, and the time you took to do the flower, (kudos)... way to go.. this is gorgeous.
Heather, beautiful and so creative!! I don't know which I love more -- the incredible flower that must have taken so much patience or the well written journaling that shows your pride and love!! Both beautiful!!
I love that you "pieced" this flower together from small scraps in a LO about your grandparents rebuilding their lives...very symbolic and meaningful....a ton of work for both endeavors....Wonderful LO and incredible journaling. Very moving.
For the Flowers Challenge: I drew a flower and then cut out pieces of paper to paste over it to make a mosaic. It took FOREVER but I love how it came out.
For the Oct. Color Challenge: I used black, green and purple!
Journalling:
When we went in April of 2006 to Maw Maw and Paw Paw’s House for the first time since Katrina hit we were all in for a Shock. Even though they had made tons of improvements since The storm it was still devastated. The meaning of true love is how Much time my grandparents have spent assuring me that everything Will be ok even though I’m not the one who lost everything. They did. It’s over a year later now and they’ve just now decided that they are Going to stay in Port Sulphur, La. and rebuild. I am proud of them for Their strength and courage. The picture is of Jordan and Paw Paw Barton sitting in his old rocking chair. One of the few things that Survived the storm.
