This was one of my first ideas for the Guys Rule Challenge, of my dad with my DD, but it started leaning too girlie so I switched and did the one of my DS.

Now, my dad has a great personality and all, but his smiles, like the really big happy smiles, are rare. I can probably count on both hands the number of times he's smiled this big in my lifetime, and two of those times involve his grandkids. This was on 4th of July this summer. Dad and Mom had had some RV troubles in getting down here for their annual trip to see the grandkids and they were about a week late in arriving, missed their grandson's birthday and had to leave before their granddaughter's 1st birthday. (Dad jokes there are claw marks all the way up I-5 because he had to drag my mom kicking and screaming out of California! LOL)

Anyway, so they'd finally made it to the RV site and we had just arrived at their RV for the 4th of July festivities and something about this little girl really got Dad going! Don't know if its his remembering when his two daughters were little or if she really does just have that magic touch with Papa, but she got a BIG smile out of him with her big smile and lo and behold, I managed to get it on camera! Even my mom was shocked!

This is for the 5 Ingredients Challenge. This month we got to pick five elements from this adorable page "Red White and Cute" by Dianepjs seen here:

Originally I wanted to do the title as one element, but I'll save that for the other page I had in mind! I chose: Stenciling, Misting, Punchwork, Banner and Doily/Ribbon/Lace. This is also for the Mixed Media challenge as I got real inky on the background and had lots of fun with my mists, masks and texture paste! Also fussy cut those butterflies and played with the embossing folders and dies I have for my Sizzix. So happy with how this came out!

Also for my hoarders challenge as I used a lot of things I've had in my stash for a long while - breaking out those embossing folders was one major obstacle!

Lastly for the In This Corner because, again this is another paper I bought with corner graphics, though I kind of covered it up with the masking and misting...

TFL!
