Journaling - This summer, we went back to the River House with Li, Mom, Dad, Gramma, Uncle Buck, Aunt DeeDee, and my cousins, Jeannie and Johnnie. This was Li's first time out on the Mississippi River and we showed him around town and the Yellow River. Even though the house was sold in 1994, so much of it was left exactly the same. It was just like stepping into the past. I almost expected to see my Grandpa cooking omelets in the kitchen. Even the bunk beds were still there where I had signed on the wooden frame, "Kelly was here". We wandered around the house sharing stories and then cooked lunch out on a sand bar. By the end of the trip Li was a true river rat, even helping Johnnie and me push the boat off the sand bar.
