What a beautiful page! You've done a fantastic job of showcasing those older photos! Love the colors and the patterned paper you used for the die cut mat.
your tree looks like the ones I remember when I was really young. my parents did everything on Christmas Eve (not sure how, but they did), My mom also did one tinsel at a time (which she then passed on down to a couple of my brothers - LOL). It's amazing really. I wonder if it was the thing to do back then. Your page is darling and all the journaling makes it even more so.
It sounds like your childhood Christmas memories were really something special. From decorating the tree to finding your gifts on Christmas morning. I love how you carried most of your traditions on to your Christmases of today. The journaling really touches your heart. Amazing page with your childhood Christmas memories and those great photos. fave
That metal plaque is fantastic but my favorite part of this lo is all of that awesome journaling and you handwrote it! Quite impressive and I enjoyed reading it. Awesome pics and that pp is just perfect.
Beautiful vintage memory page. How pretty. Such a great idea to hang the doll clothes on the tree. Aren't family traditions and memories precious? So interesting to read about your family traditions!
Oh my...another thing we have in common...M&M's in the stocking. I still love them. Plain or peanut? I'm a plain addict but I am loving the caramel ones. Hahaha! Your journaling was the one thing that really caught me. It was so heartfelt and really gives your family a glimpse into your childhood. LOVE how you did the title especially the "tradition." Perfection!
Using all ols stash - Basic Grey ppd, stickers, brads. misc ribbon and metal plaque.
Holiday Memory Journaling challenge Girl Only
Journaling: Photos of me Christmas 1954 in the house on Old Wood Rd. in Morris Township. We had real trees when I was young - decorated with glass balls, bubble llights, glass bead garlands, a star at the top and tinsel!Back then my Dad put the tinsel on - one strand at a time. Very tedious but it did make a beautiful tree. These days I use an artificial tree. I still have some of the glass balls which I treasure. I use bead garland - not glass though & a Madonna on top. NO TINSEL! Christmas morning was special- I had my stocking which I could open first but I had to stay out of the living room. After my parents had their coffee we went in & I saw the tree with all the presents. Santa's gifts were never wrapped - notice the doll clothes hanging on the tree. For Brian & the grandchildren, I wrapped everything and I didn't put any under the tree until the kids were asleep. Stockings are still a big tradition in the family - for everyone not just kids. My stocking always has M+Ms in the toe. These are just a few memories from my childhood.
