Such a cute page - love the lettering! She did let me have longer hair, but once I cut it off, it was really hard to grow back... been short since high school LOL! Wonder if that was natural wave in her long hair??? Maybe that's where Sarah got some of her curl and waves :)
Photo of my Mama when she was about 21 years old. Title work was cut with Cameo and layered 4 times for dimension. Key from my stash. Circle embellies were all punched with circle or scallop circle punches. Doily is a Echo Park die. I made a pocket on the back of the layout, then punched a half circle from the side of the background paper and added another half circle on the journaling strip so that it could slide in and out easily. Journaling pulls out from the side and reads:
I never saw my Mama with long hair. This photo was obviously taken either right before she and Daddy got married in 1945 or right after they were married. Getting married gave Mama the freedom and the courage to cut off her long hair. Her Daddy (my grandfather who was a Baptist minister) thought it was a sin for a woman to cut her hair. Mama was never allowed to cut her hair as long as she lived at home with her parents. She never allowed me to grow my hair long. The only time my hair was down past my shoulders was when I was about 21 years old. I was married and not living at home. I was told I had long hair as a little girl. Mama told me that her Daddy cried when she cut my hair short.
