This photo dates from 1949 or 1950. Taken by my Grandparents' neighbour who decided not to leave Nikolaiken and remained in the area until his death in the early 1970s.

On the left, mostly hidden behind the trees, is my Grandparents' house. You can just about make out the balustrade of the first floor balcony - the very same one that is featured in a layout about my Mum and her older sister ("Life in 1939").

I did a bit of stencilling (with paste and distress oxide inks), stamping, colouring with brush markers and also used up some rub-ons. All the embellies are no longer available, all relics from the past, just like the photo......
