This is the title page to an 8x8 album I did documenting my pregnancy ... and it's also the first and only all-digital layout I've ever done. I liked the digital process (so easy!) but for me, scrapbooking is all about the tactile pleasure of paper, stickers, markers, etc. I'm not swearing off digital entirely though. :)
Journaling reads: "I found out I was pregnant in mid-May, just after Tim's birthday. It was our second month of trying to get pregnant and I didn't expect anything to happen so soon. But I was late and feeling frustrated that I had to act as though I was pregnant when I was sure there was no way I could actually be pregnant. Finally I bought a box of three pregnancy tests and took one after work, before Tim got home. The instructions said that one line meant I was not pregnant and two lines meant I was pregnant, and it was okay if one line was darker than the other. I was shocked to see two lines develop on the test. But one was substantially darker than the other and I was confused - was the darker line the control line or the test line? Knowing the answer would really affect my interpretation of the results! I went online and tried to find more information, but to no avail. I shared the news and my disbelief with Tim when he got home. He read the instructions and we both agreed that it seemed like I must be pregnant, but that lighter line was still troubling.
The next morning, I called Nanette to tell her my news, and I shared my question about how to read the test results. She said she could tell I had never taken a pregnancy test before, because positive definitely looks different from negative. That's when I knew that I needed to see what a negative test looked like, so I could compare. So when Tim and I got home from work that night, I asked him to take one of the tests. There was no question that he would get a negative result! Sure enough, his test produced one line - the lighter of the two lines. So that's the control line, and the darker line was the one indicating my test result. That was when I knew for sure, and the news finally started to sink in. That was the beginning of our ..."
