We have had so much rain this summer, we're getting a spetacular show of autumn wildflowers (and it's still summer!) This is a shrubby wildflower called Snow on the Mountain (Euphorbia marginata). The green & white striped "petals" are actually leaves. The small round parts in the middle are the flowers. Evidently the sap inside them doesn't taste good, so cattle won't eat it. That means we have whole fields full of this stuff and it grows along fencerows, too. LOVE it!
