Very nice -- love old buildings like this, especially those with history :) Very rare to find bulding like this around here -- in Sitka, yes, but not in southcentral AK! Looks like a pretty sunset happening in the background, too! Great take on the challenge :)
Desilu... it is used for a small group of men (Oddfellows is what they called) I have no idea what they do but once a month there is a supper there, it is very small and to think it was a school is kind of neat, upstairs has all the chairs downstairs must have been were they ate and had gym... I live the history of it all
This is a historical building, and was named after Col. William Prescott, who fought in the Battle of Bunker Hill.In September of 1833 a Mr. Eldridge opened a private school in Pepperell. In February of 1834 an association was formed for the establishment of the academy. It was built in three months at a cost of $900. The school continued until interest began to lag from 1854-1860.
