I am in Fl. but I have no clue what kinda bird this is but then unless its a black bird, hawk, buzzard, or cardinal I don't know to many birds names. I have never had the chance to study birds.
I tried looking him up too, but i can't see enough of him to tell what he is, I don't think he is a Mockingbird though. Is that a stripe going through his eye or a shadow?
I'm not from Florida, so I can't say for sure - but it looks like what my bird book (common birds of North America) says - it's a Northern Mockingbird. I'll check back later and see what others say.
When we were in Florida last winter, we saw this unusual bird outside of a restaurant. I don't have a good photo of this, but when it sang, it's throat opened up! This was about the best pic I could find of it. Any of you Florida ladies know what it is?
