I thought we had an unwritten agreement about discontinued items. That alpha stencil is a MUST-HAVE - the title is so striking. There's so much to love about this layout - the "bubble" pp - I would have never thought to pair it with the theme; the row of houses couldn't be more fitting; and those rub-on lamp posts - they would have stayed in my stuff-to-stay-hoarded box.
Love, love your layout! Everything! Have much fun with your mom in Germany! We have been visiting my inlaws last month after more than a year and it was so good to see at least my mil in person again (fil was not at home).
What a great use for scraps! Love how you brought it all together - with the lamppost and other accents! Love the stenciled title - definitely British Icons!
Great photo, gorgeous page!! Love the patterned squares and row houses and your title work punctuated by those gentlemen...
Enjoy your trip; it's wonderful that you can finally visit your mother <3
Love everything about this page! We actually have a telephone inside a small phone booth like this in our guest room-the only non Mickey Mouse phone I've ever bought! Enjoy your trip! Looking forward to seeing your future layouts!
So much goodness in this LO! From the stenciled, around the corner title to the use of the VB postcard for journaling. I am also partial to hearts and love the little row of black mini's! Super LO & TFS!
A great LO! Love the items we Americans think of so quiescent Brithish items. We used to see one of the phone booths, but it was blue, out from a house on one of our town's back roads. The family used it for their children to wait for the school bus. Love the lamppost. A great page!
Have a great trip, and enjoy your visit!
Another very cool page, love all the embellies and the title placement. I hope you have a terrific holiday! We're going to B.C. on a "working" holiday, cleaning up the rest of my Dad's estate. I'm looking forward to seeing the rest of your layouts!
I can't think of anything more iconic in Great Britain than those iconic telephone booths! I've taken many pictures of them over the years too. And the letter box - forgot about those! They need to be preserved! In the states we had phone booths but I don't know of any that have been preserved. You just don't see them - completely gone but they were never as classic and iconic as the ones in Great Britain. Your page is perfect and I love all the detail - even the little puppy. Great title - love the way you arranged it! Cool layout!
I really like this month's Sketch Challenge run by SusanneG and I am determined to take part. Not sure how many layouts I will be able to do, because I am flying to Germany next week. (Yay!!!)
Finally, after 11 months of waiting and hoping, I am able to see my Mum again. We are both really excited, my flights are booked and my suitcase is already half packed. I'll be back mid October, hopefully with lots of photos, new inspiration and ideas.
So, here is my entry for Sketch #1. Apart from the listed cardstock and paper, everything else were scrap pieces. I also tried out my latest bargain buy: The TCW alphabet stencil.
I used a few more mini stencils, some small stamps and one rub-on image. The post card is from VB's Let's Wander Collection that I photocopied in black and white. I also photocopied the TH figures and reduced their sizes.
