Actually, it just appears dreary -- prpbably because I'm shooting into the sun. It was mostly overcast, but also sunny, too, in spots. The photo of our house and yard was taken just a few minutes later and you can see some sunlight in that shot.
I love the lines in this, the land, trees and clouds, form a curve that bring the eye back to the center of the shot where the sun seems to be trying to shine through.
