You Are My Sunshine

I created this page for the May Lyric Challenge. This my DD #2's school picture for last year. Since she was born I have sang You Are My Sunshine to her, as well as Sunshime being her nickname (especially from her Daddy). So as soon as I saw the song on the list I knew it would be the one and which paper I would use. I originally intended to use a baby picture, but while looking for the right one I came across this picture and knew it was meant to be. The yellow and green dress were the perfect shade and once I took a closer look and realized she was wearing bee earrings I was sold.
I cut around the butterflies wings and added some rock candy stickles. For the bees I traced their wings using a clear star pen and then used glossy accents on the body. I stitched the circle using gold sewing thread.
